Happy Birthday to me!! Okay, so I feel REALLY old and that is only because my daughter got her license on Monday and well that makes me REALLY OLD!!

My work peeps had a gathering for me on Monday morning during a meeting and actually got one over on me! (And that is hard to do since I am like the nosiest person around!)

Don't even remind me about how long it has been since I posted the last blog!!! So I have been busy...OKAY!!! I took care of my niece and nephew for a couple of nights and for those of you that thought of having kids or don't have any children....well, that could be birth control for anyone in your late thirties!!! I love them dearly and they aren't bad kids, but I'm not 25 anymore!!
I did make this cute little slide show for you all and it includes pictures that my little nephew took on the first night they stayed with us. That was some of the amusement I provided for him...a camera and free reign at taking pictures of all the people and items in my house :)

Not even half way there

Is it only Tuesday? It seems this week may drag on just as last week did but I sure hope that it doesn't end like last week ended!! Thursday night my home phone rang and I saw it was my ex-husband's phone number on the caller i.d. and thought hmmmm, well maybe Jordan needed something....well it was my ex and he starts by saying, "I hate to call you and tell you, but I am on the way to the hospital with Jordan." I thought, oh my gosh what has happened!! Jordan and his step brother were attempting to break Evel Knievel's record I guess, and Jordan failed at that one because his bike went head first off the ramp! I had to wait for Brooke to get home from a baseball game before I could even meet them at the hospital because I was unable to reach her on her cell. When I got to the hospital and went back through the ER, Jordan actually was talking and seemed okay by then....so they took him to X-Ray and after taking numerous photos of his left arm/wrist and she placed the films up on the screen, it was evident that it was broken. They couldn't set it that evening because it was so swollen but they gave him so Tylenol with codeine for pain and he had to go the next day to the orthopedic doctor. Well, they said his growth plate looked okay but still a bit of swelling so they wanted to wait a week before a normal cast would be put on his arm. This is what he has on his arm until he returns to the doctor on Thursday.

So after my whole Thursday evening festivities at the hospital, I was hoping for a great weekend but that got off to a great start....NOT! Joey's ex decided she was going to text him a few times and tell him that she thought he had better taste than me! HA-HA, oddly enough...besides seeing me, she doesn't know me. And furthermore she isn't supposed to be harassing him or contacting him at all since the separation. So I called her work number and the first time I called the voice mail picked up and I left word that she doesn't know me and I haven't been involved in her life now nor prior to their separation so I would appreciate the same....I guess I talked to long so it cut off but I phoned back and she answered and I said...Hi _______, This is Jennifer.....she hung up before I could say and word! I guess it was her guilt. I told him to text her back since she seems to not be able to speak to me, and tell her to NEVER contact either of us again...next time I will take papers out on her. I am not dealing with her petty drama. She obviously has issues. After that craziness I decided to go home for lunch and relax, upon my return and re-entering the building.....I saw a gentleman run from the area of the training center and behind the drive through and runs right in front of me to get into the branch. Despite my efforts to ignore him, I noticed several things about him. For instance, why was he racing to get into the bank before me? Why did he have a white towel in his hands? And why did'nt he hold the door for me? After he ran in the first set of doors I then entered and went towards the employee door on the right, I looked up and noticed a lot of commotion and thought, Oh my gosh, that guy that just ran past me is robbing the branch! I then saw one of our security guards doing his best to get up to the counter where the suspect was and I noticed the suspect run back towards the front door and was out of here that quick!!

Here is the article the Wilson Daily Times wrote but they say he walked into the bank which wasn't really true, I think he was on something really STRONG!!! Especially to rob the bank at 1:25 in the afternoon on a Friday and downtown at that....with no gun and by foot.

Needless to say, I was glad to get home but wished I was going away to relax somewhere!

Only a week and a half and I will be seeing my family from N.J. and we will participate in the Relay for Life and celebrate Brooke's 16th Birthday!!!

Monday Again?

Just were does the weekend go? It seems the weekends just fly by doesn't it? My weekend wasn't all that eventful...Friday evening Jordan had a baseball game in Bailey and it was weird seeing so many of my old class mates there with their children! Maybe I don't look so old after all...ha-ha. His team won 11-3. We ate Chinese food that night and it was really good! I haven't had Chinese food in so long but I will not want any for months I'm sure. Saturday morning we got up and sort of took our time getting dressed and decided to go down to Smithfield/Selma and walk around the pottery. We also went to Jr's and I love that place, except the idea of being able to smoke in the store. Brooke made me laugh so hard in that store!!!

That evening my brother called and asked if I wanted to meet him and his friend Tyler at Ruby Tuesday's to eat dinner since Joey had to work night's this weekend. After dinner we took him some dessert, AWHHHHH how sweet was that? I went to bed pretty early that evening. Sunday Joey came over after he woke up and we cooked out on the grill. He had made some potato salad and deviled eggs and some cheese cake! Gee, where has this man been all of my life? He is amazing!! I love him to pieces!! Before Brooke went to her boyfriends house she ate another piece of cake and said, Okay guys...group hug!! I was like Hmmm, she actually loves being around Joey! This is shocking to me, since she doesn't take to many people easily.

Well that was my weekend in a nutshell. I hope everyone has a great week!

It's Finally Here~~

I actually feel like dancing just like this cute little man on this graphic, just because it's Friday!!!

Baseball season is in full swing now and I LOVE it!! Baseball is actually my favorite sport. Jordan had some great hits last night and made some pretty good plays. There was a little safety issue during the game though, just like you always preach to all children over and over...Don't swing the bat around other children, or watch just where your walking while on the baseball field!! One child was warming up before going to bat and another child walked right into his swing and the bat hit him right in his mouth!! OUCH!!! It was like one of those slow motion things....you see it coming but can't speak quick enough!!

Well, I have another game to attend this evening and I don't really know what else I have going on this weekend. I hope you all have an outstanding weekend!!!

Is is Friday Yet?

So it's 3:30 on Thursday and this week seems to have gone by so SLOW!! What's with that? Well Wednesday was Administrative Professionals Day and I got some beautiful flowers...

And I got a gift certificate to a great store here in town called Arts Unlimited. Phyllis took me out to eat lunch at Western Sizzlin and we had a great time talking and laughing as we normally do! I was also surprised with some YUMMY doughnuts from The Wilson Doughnut Shop.

I was shocked to open a card up that instantly played this...

All in all it was a great day!!! Thanks to all of my great co-workers and friends for making my day extra special!!!

Just my luck...

Isn't this just my luck, Joey bought 3 lotto tickets last night and let Brooke and I pick which one we would like to have and I picked the one that had the number 3 3 6 on it...well wouldn't you know that last night on the eleven o'clock news I watched just to see if I could be a lucky winner of the $500.00 dollars in the Pick Three for Sunday evening. The lady announces the first number is 3, and then the next number is 4 and then the next number is 6!! 3 4 6!! Okay WHY couldn't it have been 3 3 6 !! Just my luck as usual!

The rest of my weekend was GREAT though, I think the more time I spend with Joey, I realize that I love him more and more each day! He is the kindest person I think I have ever met. Friday night we cooked steaks on the grill and ate outside and talked until about 9:30 or so before going inside...there was a full moon that evening but the weather was beautiful!!

Saturday we went to Rocky Mount and ate at Ruby Tuesday's and then went to Old Navy because I had no shorts at all to wear since I lost so much weight. After Old Navy we headed over to that great mall in Rocky Mount (haha) and Joey bought some cologne and I got some new flip flops that are really cute. That afternoon we drove out to his brothers house and I met him and his wife, we had a nice time just chatting with them for a while. Since we shopped Saturday I figured we could just eat something light at my house and watch a movie. The Wedding Date was on that night and I love that movie!!!

Sunday I was a lazy bum! I didn't even get dressed until about 1:30 or so I guess but it was so rainy that I could have slept all day. I needed some covers for my stove since the silver plates were so worn out, so we got some new ones and then ended up going to San Jose and eating a late lunch. I suggested we have some Sangria..Joey had never had any and after about 2 glasses of that...I am VERY talkative... :)

Well that sums up my fun filled weekend...I hope you all have a great week ahead and I will update you all soon!

Saving the Sick

Today I am going to talk about everyone being sick yesterday! Was there a full moon last night? Hmmmm, not sure what was going on but my friend Kim started feeling bad all of a sudden yesterday afternoon...her symptoms were a sore throat and she said she felt as though she had a fever. I get home and Jordan was fine but as I get to Brooke's bedroom to check on her I see that she is doing her homework but she didn't look well at all...she said "Mom, my throat hurts and my ears don't feel good!" I'm thinking, oh no...I hope she isn't getting sick because she is worse than me as a sick patient! Anyhow, Joey was supposed to bring over some cream for my shoulders and neck because I have had a constant headache that is just NAGGING for about a week and I know its because of my shoulders and the stress in them...but he texted me and said "I will be over in a little while, I need to run to the pharmacy because I just don't feel well." I thought, geez everyone is sick today!!! I think he had a virus and I could see just how bad he felt by looking at his eyes. I told him he needed to go home and not feel like he had to be at my house because we enjoy him being with us....he needed the rest!

Today it seems that everyone is a lot better than they were last night, but you always have to be careful after you think you had one of those 24 hour virus'.

Monday's Can be Manic

Well here we are again folks, back at work after a short weekend. I really didn't do anything exciting over the weekend but I did do the normal cleaning, washing clothes and cooking for the family. I actually made stuffed shells for dinner last night and oh man they were GREAT if I do say so myself ;) It is a lot of work stuffing all of those shells but the benefit is great in the long run.

Well in 29 days my Brooke will turn sixteen years old and I am really feeling old. Joey and I planned this really nice Sweet Sixteen party for her using a lot of the resources he has with DJ's and Clubhouse Rental and we had our menu planned out, and then she informs me that she doesn't want a party! WHAT? OH MY GOSH...I was hurt or shocked when I heard that after all of that planning we put into her party. The reason she didn't want to have a party is because of the possibility of alcohol showing up somehow as it had with several of the kids parties in the past. I guess I should be happy she is being responsible in that regard but you only turn sixteen once in your life.

My family from N.J. will be coming down to celebrate her birthday as well and it happens to be the same weekend as the Relay for Life. That holds a special place in my families heart since we have several survivors of cancer in our immediate family but I also have had several close friends and family members that I have lost to that terrible disease. It hurts so many people, but it makes you appreciate every day of your life and all of your loved ones around you!

Gee, enough of all the gushy stuff, I need to change the mood here! So I think we have come up with a plan for the sweet sixteen deal now, she wants to rent a limo and go to the Cheese Cake Factory with two of her friends. Now I just have to find out if anyone I know has a limo because that would be a lot cheaper I'm sure since you rent them by the hour and we will be going to Raleigh.

Half Way

Well we are half way through the work week today, YEAH!!! So Happy Hump Day to everyone. Today was our day to deliver Meals on Wheels and I really enjoy spending that small amount of time with most of those cutie older people. It really hurts my feelings to think that we are the only people that spend time with most of them! To start to learn things about each of them and ask about the appointment they had last week or how they are feeling...well it just makes a lot of the people on our route really happy, plus I love to spend time with most of them anyhow.

I cant wait to get home and see my family and my new man!! He cut my grass today and was cooking dinner for us, now how great of a man is that? Gee, where has he been all of these years?? :)

Mood of My Monday

It's Monday and well this is how I feel today, not because it is the first day of the work week and we have four more days to go....or that it is cool and rainy outside...BUT it's because I am here without either of my "Buddy's!" Kim's mom is sick so she didn't have a sitter and Phyllis came in for a half day and is working at home the rest of the day. So I am so lonely without my girl's!!

It is weird how quiet is can be up here on the 5th floor when one of us or two of us is out for the day. The ORM group is really quiet and the silence is killing me....UGHHHHH!!

I guess I will go and get my nails filled in at lunch today and when I get back and check to mail and make sure everything is done...I will search for the perfect sweet sixteen invitation for Brooke. I cant believe she will be 16 in about a month. Gee how time goes by. Well maybe I will post more later this afternoon.

Rainy Saturday and Relaxing Sunday Morning

It's been a rainy Saturday and I haven't done a lot of anything yet, I have sat and watched the rain for sometime and gee that is really relaxing. I am going to Triangle Town Center in a few minutes but actually my real intention of going to Raleigh is to shop at one of my favorite stores, The World Market, that store has EVERYTHING!

Well I got back from Raleigh and got a couple pair of earrings and a candle from The World Market and walked around the mall for awhile. After we came back home we decided to go to Greenville to eat at The Olive Garden. I always say that I need to get a different entree and I end up getting the Tour of Italy. I was actually out while Carolina was playing in the Final Four and ughhhh, NOT GOOD!! I had to text Kim and express my disappointment because I knew we were going to come in on Monday to hear Bryan talk about winning the bracket.

I wanted to cry when I saw the final score!! They played so great throughout the tournament.

Oh well, maybe next year.

Sunday was a cool and rainy day as well! Joey and I ended up going to meet his sister at the Cracker Barrel and then went to Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. I don't know why I love going to these places so much because I am always so broke!! Haha!! I guess I enjoy window shopping.

It's My First Blog and It's Friday

I guess I will have to dedicate this first blog to my friend Kim, she has decided to log her "Working Off the Baby Fat" progress each day by blogging. Actually I think it's a great idea because you can look back in a few weeks and see just how far you have progressed in just a short amount of time. She is really working hard though (unlike myself) she goes to the gym nearly everyday at lunch. I really have to start getting hard on myself again because I have noticed about a four or five pound weight gain and I really don't want to gain any of the weight I lost over the last year and a half. Okay, enough about the weight deal because it gets me all depressed.....ugh!

I took a vacation day today and I will miss my girl's today but since they won't get to see me today I will at least share this with them.....

Well, I guess I will leave you with this or now and I will come back in a few hours to add a little bit more.
